ABSTRACT From its historical origins as a resistant and violently repressed bundle of music, dance martial arts practices the African diaspora in Brazil, capoeira has travelled, becoming global phenomenon with groups networks diverse sites around world, including London, Cape Town Hong Kong indeed Leeds where this research was based.
